Hey Family!

Whats happening? It is time for another week of e-mails.

Well, I don't have too much to say this week. We had a baptism. He also received the priesthood on Sunday. He showed up in a white shirt and tie and bore his testimony at the baptism. He said he plans on sticking in the church with his wife. There was a lot of support from the members. It turned out really good. I was bothered because the member that took the picture moved the camera before the shutter took the picture, so it turned out blurry. Actually let me re-phrase that, "Because the member moved the camera around before the picture got taken, I chose to be bothered."

Well, what else? We had zone leader council. They bought us Wendy's. President Veirs wants us to really focus on the inactives and re-teach them as if they were new investigators and re-convert them.

We taught a family about the WOW. They drank coffee before. The lady said she gets a headache if she doesn't. We explained that it's because it's a drug and God has commanded us to not drink it. And He knows what's best for us. So after she agreed, we put all the coffee bags they had in our backpacks and carried them to our house. Now we are going to have to dispose of them.

We had a very spiritual experience with one investigator. She has cancer and had a baptismal date for last weekend. But she got very sick and they had to take her to the clinic. When we went and visited her, do you know what the first thing she mentioned was? "Oh, I feel pretty sad, because I had my baptism scheduled for last week." She was very sincere. We gave her a blessing with the Stake President and the spirit was palpable. She said a prayer before the blessing and was in tears. There was just a great feeling of peace that came over all of us.

One other thig we did was that E. Sorenson and I wrote 10 of our favorite scripture on a little tiny piece of paper and then put them in an empty bottle. We are going to give the bottles to the families we are teaching and are going to tell them if they are ever discouraged or have trials, or need guidance, to shake the bottle up and pull out one of the pieces of paper and read the indicated scripture. We are going to encourage them to add some of their favorites as well.

Anyways, it was a good week.

I sure do love you and know that the church is true.

Elder Goodwin
